Mission

Laos AgriVentures is investing in the future of Laos, both spiritually and economically.

Laos is a nation of about 6 million people. Their government has been reassessing their economic models for the past 15+ years. In the past 5 years, they have implemented the necessary reform to merit worthy consideration of Western investment.

Most people in Laos still work in Agriculture, and yet most of the modern practices of the West have not yet been implemented largely due to lack of capital. The potential to improve efficiencies, productivity, revenue and exports is widely available.

Laos AgriVentures is partnering with the local church in Laos, who are committed to sharing the gospel message with those who would hear.

We are further partnered with Christian businessmen who are building out Ag projects across Laos, and already have substantial assets on the ground in multiple locations. They are seeking additional capital, specifically from Christian investors in order to be "equally yoked," to continue to grow their operations and thereby strengthen the impact of their dual mission for the nation.

By bringing modern and value-added Ag projects and processes to Laos, we may be able to impact the overall GDP of Laos by 2-3%. We have already demonstrated an ability to increase overall farmer income in one community by 30%, and that was with limited operations. We believe it is good to share the good news, but even better to demonstrate it in these tangible ways.

Laos AgriVentures is structured as an LLC, based in Manhattan, KS. We were setup to enable investment in various Ag projects in Laos and to provide Stateside business development support.

Such Ag projects include:

  • Pork Production - multiple 250 sow facilities across the nation, to help alleviate health risks and to build a presence nationally.
  • Feed Mills - which provides one form of value-added Agriculture, increasing farmer income, and also to feed up to 100,000 pigs each year.
  • Harvest Centers - which are basically grain storage and drying facilities in a dozen or more facilities around the country.
  • Center-pivot corn fields, fish production, soybean processing and many other projects based on the specific needs and resources of the local communities.

The business development work we do includes:

  • Recruiting like-minded individuals, couples and families to join our work in Laos, serving in swine operations, veterinary, grain handling, milling, accounting, management, internships, etc.
  • Pursuing leveraged financing to leverage our private equity investments through agencies like U.S. State Department’s Overseas Private Investment Corp (OPIC), whose purpose is to support U.S. investments in emerging markets, OPIC approved Laos as an emerging market in 1997, but so far has not received a single application for investment in Laos.
  • Building partnerships with U.S. agribusinesses with a desire to work in and impact SE Asia for the greater good and for a return.

Management

The stateside manager is Bob Reader, who has 22 years of business experience, focusing on private equity and business development for the past six years. He founded Flint Harvest LLC in 2010.

With the right partners in place, now is the time for Western investment in Laos and Agriculture is the right industry to invest in. By mobilizing Western capital and assisting in business development, we hope to impact this nation both with the good news of the Savior as well as with economic development for its people.

Employment Opportunities

Swine Production Manager/Trainer

Laos AgriVentures is recruiting a manager for pork production facilities to be built in Laos, each to be a 250 sow operation. This work is a Kingdom venture with a dual mission to reach the nation of Laos with the good news of Jesus, while also building Ag facilities that create jobs and improve farmer income.

The successful candidate must first and foremost love the Lord and have a heart for missions. He must also have the experience to manage a 250 sow operation, including set up breeding schedules, teach proper AI procedure, correct problems with birthing, assess sickness, finishing, etc. He would also be responsible for training the Laos nationals to manage the swine operations in the long-term.
